MBA News: Number of Women on Wall Street Declines

The New York Times reports that despite an increase in female representation in business schools, the number of women on Wall Street is in decline. Women now compose almost 40% of business school classes, but only 20% of those women pursue Wall Street careers, meaning that out of every one-hundred students in a class, only eight women will head to Wall Street. Of course, where there is under-representation, there is also opportunity. Considering these numbers, it should be a little bit easier for women to find jobs during a tough hiring environment, compared to their male counterparts.
